"The gospel isn’t about creating insiders and outsiders; it’s about a God who stepped into our brokenness to make outsiders part of His family."
Epiphany celebrates the revelation of Christ’s light reaching beyond boundaries, welcoming all people into God’s family. Through the story of the Magi and Paul’s words in Ephesians 3, we see the heart of the gospel: God’s grace is expansive, inclusive, and limitless. Paul describes the mystery of God’s plan, now revealed through Christ, that salvation is available to all—Jews and Gentiles alike. This was a transformative message in his time and remains so today, challenging us to embrace the same boundless love that unites all people in Christ.
In a world filled with divisions—whether racial, political, or social—the gospel calls us to break down walls and build bridges. Paul reminds us that these barriers are human-made constructs, dismantled by Christ’s grace. Living out this truth means embodying God’s inclusivity in our actions, relationships, and communities. From small gestures of kindness to intentional acts of reconciliation, we reflect the love of a Savior who welcomes everyone to His table. It’s a call to humility, courage, and the transformative power of grace.
This message is as much a challenge to the church as it is to individuals. We are called to create spaces where everyone feels celebrated as a reflection of God’s creativity and love. Paul’s vision of unity urges us to move beyond passive agreement into active participation in God’s mission. By embodying the mystery revealed in Christ, we live out the gospel’s radical, unifying love, shining God’s light into the world and inviting others to experience His boundless grace.
