As Good As We Know to Be

John 3:1-17

While salvation comes as soon as we come to Christ, sanctification is a process. It is a process of learning and growing until we are as much like Jesus as is possible. The most simple way to put it is, "Praise God I am not who I was and Praise God I am not who I will be." The problem comes when we stay where we are in the process of becoming who God calls us to be. Do you have faith but lack understanding? Nicodemus had faith in God and the knowledge of all of the laws of the Torah but he was missing understanding. Sanctification isn't about trying to force Old Testament law onto others. It is about allowing ourselves to be bent into the image of our Savior.
