Living by Faith in Every Step

2 Corinthians 5:7 is about living with faith even when we can't see what's ahead. It's like walking through a fog, trusting that the road is there even though we can't see it clearly. This verse reminds us that our relationship with God is built on trust, not on what we can see or understand at every moment. It's a call to believe in His guidance and love, even when life feels uncertain.

Devotional:

In a world that often tells us to rely on what we can see, touch, and measure, 2 Corinthians 5:7 offers a countercultural truth: as followers of Christ, we are called to live by faith, not by sight. This means trusting God’s promises and guidance, even when the path ahead isn’t clear.

Living by faith in every step is not always easy. We like to know what’s coming, to have a plan, and to feel in control. But faith asks us to surrender that control to God, to trust in His timing, and to believe that He is working for our good even when we can’t see it. It’s about taking the next step in obedience, knowing that God is already in the future, preparing the way.

This kind of faith requires a daily decision to trust God, not just in the big moments but in the small, everyday choices we make. It’s the faith that says, "I may not know what tomorrow holds, but I trust the One who holds tomorrow." It’s a faith that listens for God’s voice and follows His leading, even when it doesn’t make sense by worldly standards.

When we live by faith, we experience the peace that comes from knowing that we’re not walking this journey alone. God is with us, guiding our steps, providing for our needs, and working out His plan in our lives. This doesn’t mean that the road will always be easy or that we won’t face challenges, but it does mean that we can walk forward with confidence, knowing that God is faithful.

Living by faith in every step also means being willing to step out into the unknown, to take risks for the sake of the gospel, and to trust that God will equip us for whatever He calls us to do. It’s about believing that God’s plans are greater than our own and that His ways, though sometimes mysterious, are always good.

Action: Reflect on an area of your life where you struggle to live by faith. Ask God to help you trust Him more in that area, and make a conscious effort to surrender your worries and plans to Him, trusting that He will guide your steps.

Prayer: Lord, we thank You for calling us to live by faith and not by sight. Help us to trust You in every step we take, even when the path is unclear. Give us the courage to follow Your leading and the peace to rest in Your promises. May our lives reflect a deep and abiding faith in Your goodness and faithfulness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
