Jesus wasn’t giving a pep talk—He was giving marching orders. After everything—His ministry, the cross, the resurrection—He stood before His disciples and laid it out plainly: “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Go. Make disciples. Baptize. Teach. And remember—I am with you always.”
This wasn’t a suggestion. It wasn’t a “Hey, if you feel like it…” It was the mission. And it still is.
Devotional
Jesus could have done this a thousand different ways. He could have sent angels to preach. He could have written the gospel across the sky. But instead? He chose us. Imperfect, messy, sometimes fearful people. He entrusted His mission to us.
And that would be terrifying—except for one thing. He didn’t just send us. He promised to go with us.
Too often, we make excuses. I’m not ready. I don’t know enough. Someone else is better equipped. But Jesus didn’t say, “Go when you feel prepared.” He just said, “Go.” Because this isn’t about our power—it’s about His.
Making disciples isn’t just for pastors. It’s not just for missionaries. It’s for everyone who calls Jesus Lord. That means your workplace, your home, your everyday conversations—they’re all part of the mission field.
You don’t have to change the whole world. Just be faithful with the people God puts in front of you. Share. Love. Teach. And trust that Jesus is with you in every single step.
Action
Who in your life needs to hear about Jesus? It doesn’t have to be a big speech—just a conversation, a moment of kindness, an invitation. This week, take a step. Share your faith. Be bold. And remember—you’re not doing this alone.
Prayer
Jesus, You’ve called me to something bigger than myself. I don’t want to sit on the sidelines. Give me boldness to step into the mission You’ve given me. Open my eyes to opportunities to share, and remind me that You are always with me. In Your name, Amen.
Thought for the Day
You’re not just called—you’re sent. And Jesus goes with you.
