The Israelites had seen miracles—plagues, parted seas, pillars of fire. But in the wilderness, hunger had a way of making them forget. They grumbled, doubted, wondered if slavery had been better than starving. And then, one morning, the ground was covered in something strange. Thin, white flakes. Manna. Just enough for the day. Not too much, not too little. Exactly what they needed.
Devotional
We love the idea of abundance. Overflow. More than enough. But sometimes, God doesn’t give us extra. Sometimes, He gives us just enough.
Manna wasn’t about luxury—it was about trust. The Israelites had to wake up every morning believing God would do it again. No hoarding, no storing up just in case He forgot. Daily dependence.
And isn’t that how God works with us? He gives what we need—grace for the moment, strength for today, provision for right now. Not always the five-year plan. Not always the overflowing bank account or the perfectly clear path. But enough.
That’s hard. We want security, guarantees, proof that we’ll be okay tomorrow. But faith isn’t built on knowing the future—it’s built on trusting the Provider.
God hasn’t forgotten you. He hasn’t abandoned you. If He gave manna in the desert, He’ll give what you need now. Maybe not in the way you expect, maybe not all at once, but He will provide.
The real question is—will you trust Him, even when you don’t see what’s coming next?
Action
What’s one area in your life where you feel like you don’t have enough—enough strength, enough resources, enough clarity? Instead of stressing over tomorrow, focus on today. Thank God for the manna He’s given, and trust that He will provide again.
Prayer
Lord, I want to trust You, but sometimes, I crave certainty more than faith. Help me to rely on You today. To believe that You will give what I need, when I need it. Teach me to let go of fear and live in daily dependence on You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Thought for the Day
God’s provision isn’t always excessive—but it’s always enough.
