Paul wasn’t describing a superhero team. He was talking about the Church. Ordinary people, filled with an extraordinary Spirit. Some were given the kind of faith that could move mountains. Some had the ability to heal the sick. Some? They carried the power to work miracles. Not because they were special, but because God was moving through them.
Devotional
Let’s be real—most of us love the idea of miracles. We just don’t always expect them to happen. Maybe we believe in them in a broad, theoretical sense, but when it comes to our own lives? Our own prayers? Our own impossible situations? That’s where doubt sneaks in.
Paul wasn’t listing gifts that belonged to a few select believers. He was describing what happens when God’s Spirit moves through His people. Faith that doesn’t just hope—it knows. Healing that isn’t a distant dream but a present reality. Miracles that don’t just exist in the past but break into right now.
And yet, we hesitate. We pray for healing but secretly prepare for disappointment. We ask for a miracle but keep one foot in the land of “just in case it doesn’t happen.” But what if we actually lived like the Spirit still moves? What if we expected healing? What if we believed for the impossible?
God hasn’t changed. His power hasn’t diminished. The only question is—do we trust Him enough to ask?
Action
Think about something in your life (or someone else’s) that feels impossible. Healing that seems out of reach. A miracle you stopped praying for. Today, ask again—but ask with faith. Not a cautious, half-hearted hope, but bold, expectant trust. God is still in the business of doing the impossible.
Prayer
Lord, I don’t want to settle for safe prayers. I want to believe like You’re still moving—because You are. Strengthen my faith. Make me bold in asking. Let me see healing, experience miracles, and trust that nothing is beyond Your power. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Thought for the Day
Miracles aren’t a thing of the past. They happen wherever faith dares to believe.
