"True freedom is recognizing that we are enough because He is enough. In Christ, we are no longer defined by our past or held back by fear. Instead, we are fully known, fully loved, and truly free."
Jesus’ mission turned the world upside down, but He never broke Roman law or God’s commandments, and He didn’t encourage anyone else to do so. When He talked about setting captives free and bringing good news to the poor, it wasn’t about rebelling against Rome or tearing down civil authority. Instead, He focused on a freedom that starts in the heart—a kind of freedom no law or empire can control. He respected the rules of the world He lived in while revealing a kingdom that’s so much bigger and better than anything here on earth.
That doesn’t mean He didn’t challenge the status quo, though. Jesus wasn’t afraid to call out hypocrisy or corruption, especially when it came to people twisting God’s law for their own gain. But He didn’t toss the law aside—He fulfilled it perfectly. He reminded people to honor their responsibilities, like giving to Caesar what belonged to Caesar and giving to God what belonged to God. His actions and words weren’t about breaking the rules; they were about showing us a deeper way of living—one rooted in grace, truth, and love.
When Jesus went to the cross, He showed us just how far that love goes. He didn’t fight back against the Roman system, even though He could’ve. Instead, He submitted to God’s plan, proving that His kingdom isn’t about political power or control. It’s about freeing us from sin, fear, and everything that holds us back. Jesus invites us into a freedom that changes our hearts, our lives, and ultimately, the world around us—not through rebellion, but through His overwhelming grace and love.
