An Any Way Faith

Acts 5:27-32

Who in here did well in English in school? Granted, for some of us, that was a long time ago but do you remember the difference between “Anyway,” - one word - and “Any (space) Way?” - two words.‌Anyway - one word - means regardless, it means that something is happening in spite of something else. Such as I have to go to Walmart, I don’t feel like going but we don’t have food in the house so I have to go “anyway.”‌Any Way - two words - consists of a noun “way” modified by an adjective “any.” Before your eyes glaze over, just remember that Any Way - two words - can replace the phrases by any manner or in any manner.  An example sentence is Parents will often use any way that works to get their children to eat their vegetables.‌So often today, Christians have an any way - two words - faith. Many feel that we should use any way possible to make Christianity attractive. Or using my example, Churches will often use any way that works to get people to come to church.  Even if that way means watering down or even changing the Gospel to make it more palatable to people.‌What we need though is the faith of the apostles. ‌Only two of the apostles weren’t martyred for their faith, John and Judas Iscariot. The others had an “Anyway” - one word - faith. What does that mean? It means that even when those around us oppose our speaking the truth of Christ, we do it anyway. Using my example, it means saying “These people I work with or hang out with are not going to like me talking about Jesus or the Bible, they may even make fun of me, cuss me out, ostracize me, but I have to share the gospel anyway. Regardless of the consequences to me.
